vaci Organic Camellia Farm (since 2011)

The farm is located in a beautiful hilly village of Ji’an in Jiangxi province, far away from urban industrial pollution. The subtropical climate provides abundant precipitation and sunlight which are favorite to the growth of camellia trees.

The farm covers more than 60 hectares and soil is red or red yellow. Since its construction, the farm has been adhering to organic practice, forbidding any usage of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. The farm cuts grass by hand and drives pests in physical ways. Under the inspection and guidance of Organic Food Development and Certificate Center of China (OFDC), the farm is strictly managed to ensure the health and safety of soil and its produces.

The farm has been using organic fertilizers to revitalize the soil and increase organic substances. Up to date, the soil has been significantly improved, better for water and fertility conservancy. Besides applying fertilizers in deep holes around roots in winter, the farm also sprays liquid micro-element nutrients during critical periods including budding, blooming and fruition.

Camellia seeds grow five seasons before ripeness, absorbing the essence of sunlight, moonlight, the sky and the earth.

Camellia oil is highly recommended as cooking oil for delivery women to regain strength. The oil has other beautiful names including “longevity oil” and “tribute oil”.

Camellia is unique woody oil to China with edible history dating back to very ancient times. Peng Zu, known as “founder of Chinese regimen”, lived for 880 years. He cooked chicken soup for Emperor Yao (B.C.2188-B.C.2067), one of the three founding emperors of the Chinese. Emperor Yao ruled 70 decades and lived for 118 years. As Peng Zu recorded, “What the emperor eats is camellia seed oil, prodigal from heaven.” Zhu Yuanzhang(1328-1398), the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), was said to be chased by the enemy, heavily wounded. A farmer rescued him and applied camellia oil onto his wounds. A few days later, the wounds were well healed and swellings were gone. His constipation was even improved thanks to camellia oil he had in his food. After Zhu came to throne, he entitled camellia oil “Oil for the Imperial Palace”.
